Time Bandits – (1981) The fabulous adventures in fantastic landscapes of Kevin and the six treasure-thieving dwarves by Monty Python’s Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin (who has two minor roles with Shelley Duvall). The first night an equestrian knight bursts from Kevin’s bedroom closet followed the next night by Randall, Fidgit, Strutter, Og, Wally, and Vermin – the time bandits – pursued by the Supreme Being (Ralph Richardson), their former employer from whom they’ve stolen a map with locations of time holes.

Together they visit and rob Napoleon (Ian Holm), meet Robin Hood (John Cleese) who confiscates their booty to give to the poor, and Agamemnon (Sean Connery), who becomes a father figure to Kevin. But the author of absolute evil desires their valuable map and tricks the dwarves into a trap. It’s good (courage, kindness, generosity) versus evil (technology) in a child’s imagination.
