Soldiers Pay – Documentary (2004) featuring various viewpoints on, mostly against, the war in Iraq, including common soldiers and Marines, retired Maj. Gen. J. Michael Myatt of the Marine Corps, columnist Nicholas Von Hoffman. Americans pillaged and plundered Iraqi residences for all kinds of items, from electronic equipment to dishes along with the weaponry they were supposed to confiscate. Soldiers from the 3rd Infantry tell of the occasion when a group of them discovered $4 million dollars in a building and decided to keep it but were caught.

Even though a lieutenant and a first sergeant were also present, Sgt Matt Novak, who was promised amnesty if he would describe the operation to military authorities, became the fall guy and was punished with a dishonorable discharged for the incident. A military spokesperson stated that the money was then used to help rebuild Iraq. Contractor employees, such as for Haliburton, were better paid (ten times what soldiers received for comparable jobs) and better equipped with body armor and weapons. Soldiers pay for what politicians say.
