Quirky New York comedy

The Royal Tenenbaums – this weird, quirky movie did not appeal to me, maybe because I’m not a New Yorker. After neglecting his family for decades, Royal Tenenbaum (Gene Hackman) makes an attempt to reconcile with his wife Etheline (Angelica Huston), two sons Chas (Ben Stiller) and Richie (Luke Wilson), and adopted daughter Margot (Gwyneth Paltrow); but they are a dysfunctional lot after displaying great promise as children. Richie and Margot are in love; Etheline, who has been separated from Royal for many years, is in love with Henry Sherman (Danny Glover); and Chas with his two young boys has never forgiven his father for stealing from him as a child. Nevertheless, revelations, restitutions, and resolutions occur.
