Paycheck – Violent sci-fi thriller of escapist fare. Computer engineer extraordinaire Michael Jennings (Ben Affleck), who also just happens to be a skilled motorcyclist and yielder of a jo, takes eight-week clandestine assignments for clients after which Shorty (Paul Giamatti) erases his memory to prevent the possibility of a security breach. A once-in-a-lifetime paycheck of over $90 million for a three-year job takes him into an adventure he can’t recall, of course, only to discover he had sacrificed the money just prior to completion of the project and has only a mysterious envelope with Einstein postage stamps, containing 20 mundane objects for clues. Michael soon realizes that he somehow had access to his future and begins to piece together the puzzle. Dr Rachel Porter (Uma Thurman), a biologist and Michael’s love interest during the missing three years, hasn’t forgotten him.
