(2009) After taking us through a survey of historical events - from the Reichstag fire in 1933, which launched Adolf Hitler's rise to power, to allegations of President Franklin Roosevelt's withholding foreknowledge of Japan's plan to attack Pearl Harbor to the compartmentalization of knowledge during the Manhattan Project to the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, opening the door into the Vietnam War by means of an attack on a US vessel that never took place, to the September 2000 plan, "Rebuilding America's Defenses," authored by Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Donald Rumsfeld, and Jeb Bush - director/writer/editor Dylan Avery then wants us to take "another look at September 11th," 2001.

Daniel Sunjata narrates the visual tour of incidents leading up to and occurring on 9/11. You don't have to be a conspiracy theorist to wonder about and question, How can these things be explained? They're hard to believe, as was the attack itself.

After denying any involvement, did Osama bin Laden actually claim responsibility for the hijackings of the three aircraft that crashed into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon as well as the one that went down at Shanksville, PA? Or might these horrific attacks have been an inside job?

Did the FBI know far more about the terrorists before they struck than the agency has admitted? Several witnesses provide testimony suggesting that Mohamed Atta and his fellows appear to have been "patsies in a scheme" conducted by the federal government.

On the 11th various military exercises, such as Amalgam Virgo II, left the airspace around the capital unprotected or created confusion among air controllers as to what was real and what was part of a war game. Contrary to public statements by President George W. Bush and his head of NSA Condoleezza Rice, the US government not only was aware of the possibility of terrorists using aircraft as weapons to be flown into buildings, the Air Force had been running drills to practice intercepting such attacks; however, when each of the hijacked commercial planes veered off course, no interceptor responded.

Numerous anomalies present themselves in the aftermath of American Airlines Flight 77's crashing into the Pentagon. An amateur pilot, Hani Hanjour, performed a nearly impossible maneuver with a jetliner, traveling only a few feet off the ground like a missile, before slamming into the most reinforced section of the complex, leaving no substantial damage outside (even the lawn appears to be intact) and a relatively small entry hole in the wall without imprint from the wings and engines. Where are the engines or other debris from the aircraft? Flight 77 seemed to have utterly disappeared.

Just before the impact, Vice President Cheney was asked in a cryptic exchange, according to one source, if there was to be any change in his orders. What were those orders?

The cause of "the perfectly symmetrical collapse" of the Twin Towers - both coming down at nearly free-fall speed in ten seconds - has been questioned. An examination of dust samples taken from the World Trade Center by Dr Steven E. Jones, PhD in physics, revealed the presence of an explosive residue from a powerful "nano-thermidic reaction." Contrary to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) report that no explosions occurred or were reported at the base of the towers, numerous witnesses have made such claims. The steel from both towers was hauled off before forensic analysis could be applied to the crime scene. "Do you still think jet fuel brought down the Twin Towers?" asks Sunjata.

When you were watching the scenes of devastation on TV, did you happen to notice that at Shanksville, where the passengers supposedly revolted ("Let's roll"), forcing the hijackers to crash, killing everyone onboard, no significant remains were shown of the aircraft? As people reported on camera at the time, there was "Nothing there but a hole in the ground," surrounded by dirt, ashes, and broken trees. No airplane wreckage, though pieces of debris were scattered for six miles; no trace of jet fuel either. Was it blasted out of the air? Whatever happened remains a mystery because: "A 747 did not crash intact."

What does all this loose pocket change add up to? Still think this is all a sham, a ridiculous hoax? Watch again the way WTC Building 7, 47 stories housing CIA offices and other government agencies, collapses on video footage, just like "a controlled demolition" in free fall. How could that be? In a complete rebuttal to an NIST report that fire from the Twin Towers was the sole cause, listen to Barry Jennings's retelling of his experience on camera in 2007 of being in Building 7 with Mike Hess. Before the Twin Towers fell, these two men heard and saw the effects of explosions destroying the bottom eight floors of the building, nearly trapping and crushing them. Jennings died last year.

You can dismiss and deny all of this as ridiculous, or you can demand a new, full criminal investigation of these interconnected atrocities against the American people, is Avery's message. In closing he reminds us of an another attempted coup against the United States in 1934, brought to light by Gen Smedley Butler; in which George W. Bush's grandfather Preston Bush was allegedly among the plotters who intended to replace FDR's administration with a fascist regime.

As tantalizingly convincing as all of this appears when assembled in a singular presentation without an opposing viewpoint (similar to President Bush's Secretary of State Colin Powell's argument before the UN of Saddam Hussein's having weapons of mass destruction), I hesitate to leap to the barricades without more corroboration from people who directly participated (hundreds, if not thousands, of people must have been involved, from pilots who supposedly shot down United Airlines Flight 93 over Pennsylvania to those assumed responsible for setting off explosive charges at the base of the towers and Building 7).

Considering how easily the federal government's plumbing leaks, a conspiracy of this magnitude would be extremely difficult to cover up completely. Still and all, I'm keeping an open mind - if for no other reason the Bush/Cheney administration should be investigated for its approval of extraordinary renditions, torture of detainees, eavesdropping on Americans, and many other violations of laws and the Constitution - since the mysteries deserve explanations.
