Not a Christmas classic

Elf – Our silly Christmas movie for the holidays that has its moments of hilarity: Buddy (Will Ferrell), a human raised by elves (including Bob Newhart) at the North Pole, returns to the world of human to find his father (James Caan), who’s on the naughty list, in New York City. Ed Asner as Santa and Zooey Deschanel as Jovie, the cute, blonde girlfriend, who sings well (especially “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” duet with Leon Redbone at end of credits). David Sidaris’s brief radio sketch from his Elf Diaries is much funnier.
