Election – (1999) A moral of ethics, morality, and destiny with history teacher Jim McAllister (Matthew Broderick) and junior Tracy Flick (Reese Witherspoon) at G.W. Carver High School in Omaha, Nebraska. Initially running unopposed for student-body-council president, Tracy, little miss know-it-all who’s involved in numerous extracurricular activities and something of a control freak but destined for greatness, suddenly finds she has two opponents, Paul Metzler, a popular athlete sidelined for the season with a broken leg, and his sophomore adopted sister, Tammy, an anarchist and lesbian. Mr McAllister has put Paul up to running because as student-body-council advisor he is apprehensive about having to work closely with Tracy after his colleague David, a math teacher, had lost his job following a serious flirtation with Tracy. The plot gets complicated with Dave’s ex-wife coming between Jim and his wife. An educational film with an R rating, deserving a grade of A.
