Casanova – An alternative history/biography (surprise ending) of Giovanni Jacopo Casanova (1725-1798), portrayed by Heath Ledger, and the great love of his life, Francesca (Sienna Miller) with soundtrack of baroque music. Apparently the life of Casanova lends itself repeatedly to comedic treatment, while a faithful version of the writer/lover’s life deserves a serious approach and an R or X rating rather than PG-13. We much preferred the BBC production with Peter O’Toole/David Tennant as Casanova.
